Miebach Judges SCOMA Case Competition at Indiana University
20.09.2024
A hearty congratulations to the winners of the 2024 SCOMA Case Competition!
The Supply Chain & Operations Management Association at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University Bloomington, hosted the Case Competition Friday. This was Miebach’s first year sponsoring the competition, which gives students the opportunity to develop supply chain solutions for real world project cases.
The Supply Chain & Operations Management Association provides its collegiate members with opportunities to visit a myriad of production facilities, warehouses, and distribution centers, as well as interaction with supply chain and operations leaders from a variety of industries. It is the organization’s mission to provide students with valuable career-building networking and learning opportunities.
Over 100 students participated this year, in both upper class and underclass categories. 27 teams were asked to review an anonymized project based on an actual Miebach client’s distribution strategy study. With only two weeks to review the data, students were asked to present their conceptual solutions to the panel of Miebach judges. Presentations are assessed based on the clear communication of a creative solution, the approach and critical thinking that the team used to analyze the data and reach their conclusion, and the overall solutions’ realistic viability.
The judging panel was comprised of:
Prizes for 1st place teams in both the upper- and underclass categories received a cash prize of $1750. Second place teams for each category received a prize of $750.
