I started my professional journey at Miebach a little over 7 years ago. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure to work in India, Saudi Arabia, and across the GCC. These varied experiences have given me key insights into different markets, cultures, and business practices.
Challenges and Learnings
In India, the fast-paced, diverse business environment taught me adaptability and the importance of efficiency. While I was a project leader in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, I needed to adjust to the hierarchical structures and relationship-driven decision-making. Working with clients across the GCC, I learned that trust and patience are crucial for success, particularly in managing successful long-term projects and negotiations.
Career Path and Aspirations
My career started off with a focus on technical expertise, but my experiences as project leaders in the GCC shifted my focus toward strategic leadership. In the future, my goal is to guide large, cross-border initiatives that emphasize collaboration and cultural sensitivity, bringing diverse teams together to create innovative solutions.
Cultural Differences
The cultural contrasts between India and Saudi Arabia, as well as the broader GCC, are substantial. India’s fast-paced, problem-solving business environment contrasts with the more collaborative and relationship-oriented approach in Saudi. I have learned that understanding and respecting these differences is key to successful collaboration, and it has allowed me to foster stronger client relationships.
Overall, these experiences have shaped my career trajectory, giving me a deep understanding of cross-cultural dynamics and inspiring me to lead diverse, regional projects that bridge cultural gaps and drive success across borders.
